Bridal Headpiece for Elicia

When the beautiful Elicia came to see me, she had purchased an ornate comb as her wedding headpiece but was open to suggestions for something a little different.

I shaped a cap in wire and covered it in exquisite 1920s beading, then dismantled the comb elements and stitched them on the wired piece.

Elicia and I were thrilled with the result.

It's such a bonus when clients put their trust in my creative ability as we collaborate for a truly unique headpiece.

SHAREDCOLLECTION ON EBAY

Just though I would let you know that I heard about this fabulous seller on Ebay

...................as the story goes, she had an amazing collection and has now moved shop to concentrate on vintage weddings and headpieces. Hmmmm. Sounds familiar :-)

Seems she really wants the stock to go to special homes. I can understand that :-)

My advice to her was that if she had a blog, she should tell her faithful followers.

Enjoy......my faithful followers !!!

BOOTS AND ALL ANGIE

I can't believe it was so long ago - (hence the move to my new address) that the divine Ang came in to purchase this original 1950's vintage dress.

Angie and I joked about my refusal to allow her to wear the boots - girl after my own heart

- she wore them :-) and with such style

It was just on two years ago now, so let me think....9th January 2009

We were married at the little Anglican Church out at Wilberforce and had our reception at Tizzana Winery, a little further down the road in Ebenezer. It was the middle of a heat wave, but after 6 months of praying for a day no hotter than 25 degrees, the good Lord smile down on us, and that's what we got.It was perfect weather. My bridesmaids were amazing and had come from California, New York, London and the Gold Coast to share our day. My maid of honour had been in cahoots with the other gals over the months leading up to the wedding. They had asked Craig a load of questions about when we first met and first dates etc and had a full questionaire for me the night before the wedding. We laughed so much. They had even compiled a book with pictures and memories they had with me. So special. On the day of the wedding, we had planned to travel in our own cars to save a few dollars...my sneaky little bridesmaids had other ideas though. When it came to getting into the cars, I discovered a 1950's Jaguar in the driveway waiting to whisk me to the church. I still don't know how they got that past me. Thank you ladies! The day was a blur, but I had nothing but fun! Mum decided to give up the war on my footwear for the day and conceded that my cowboy boots would be best. There was a bit of pointing and laughing...but I was comfy...to the point of dancing a bit of a hole in my skirt by the end of the night. (so sorry darling dress!)It was a cocktail style reception and had the loveliest relaxed vibe. We couldn't have hoped for things to go any better on the day!
And thank you so much for my beautiful gown, hairpiece, veil and gloves! I enjoyed wearing them all very much!Angie x

BEAUTIFUL BEK

Beautiful, Beautiful Rebecca
Bek is one of those divine spirits who was a joy to know and work with.
Here she is in our reproduction 30's gown - we actually owned the original and had our very clever seamstress reproduce the pattern with a few tweaks for Bek.
"Sandie, I can't thank you enough for the wonderful service you provided me with.I felt like you did so much extra fo
r me, ... :-) ..... without batting an eyelash, and you did it with absolute grace!
(Your friend's aunt would be wonderfully proud).
The hairpiece and veil were perfect - the dress was perfect - the day was perfect! I received so many comments on the dress, and it's still the first thing people notice when they see the photos."
Bek and Wil - I wish you congratulations and all the happiness your wonderful selves deserve xxx
